Tender procedure in which the allotment rate corresponds to the respective individual bid. – In other words, the central bank does not specify a minimum bid rate. It allocates to banks the quantity it has earmarked so that it starts at the highest bid rates. Only the marginal bid can be subject to repartition (rationing: only part of the bid is served). However, the allocation is not made at a uniform rate. Rather, each bank is serviced at the rate it bids. – The ECB has normally applied this procedure in its main refinancing operations since the end of July 2000.
