Assets
All items generally shown on the left-hand side of a company’s balance sheet; they provide information on the use of funds invested in the company. Their counterparts are liabilities, which are shown on the right-hand side of the balance sheet and provide evidence of the source of funds. – In the case of banks, these are the receivables from customers (borrowers) shown in detail on the left-hand side of the balance sheet. – See assets, fixed assets, interest-bearing assets, capital, liabilities, assets.
