Direct debit [collecting] authorization, bill check
A debtor authorizes the creditor to debit the amount owed directly from his account (a procedure of payment, in which a debtor permits a creditor to obtain payment directly from the debtor’s deposit account). This method of payment is particularly common in the case of regularly recurring payments by tele-service providers, electricity and gas suppliers, insurance companies and health insurers. This saves time and effort for both the debtor and the creditor in case of payment via order form or Internet. Within a given period of time, the account holder can object to the direct debit, and the bank will then usually immediately reverse the amount. – See direct debit, electronic, Single European Payment Area, transfer, conditional.
