Resolvability (resolution regime)

geschrieben von am

Term incorporated into regulatory language after 2010. It refers to the precautions taken in the event that a systemic bank becomes distressed. In principle, resolution should take place in such a way that – threats to financial stability are averted, – retail investors are protected, and – any losses are not borne by the state. – See resolution mechanism, unified, bank rescue, bank testament, liquidity crisis plan, minimum requirements for the design of recovery plans rescue aid, recovery, debt sustainability, too-big-to-fail principle, mandatory convertible bond. – Cf. BaFin Annual Report 2012, p. 44 f. (key attributes were defined), p. 49 f. (resolvability guideline; list of resolution tools).
